Tournament days can be hectic: check-in times, schedule changes, and adrenaline can make you forget basics. A short routine removes stress and keeps your focus on decision-making on court.
Arrive early enough to register, stretch, and hit a structured warm-up: short volleys, lobs, and a few points with your partner. Use the first match to establish communication and patterns, not to chase highlight winners.
Between matches, treat recovery as part of performance: hydrate, keep warm, and review one tactical point you want to improve.
- Bring two grips/overgrips, water, snacks, and a towel
- Warm up with purpose: volleys, bandejas, lobs, serves/returns
- Agree on signals and targets with your partner before you play
